Berkshire Community Foundation - Berkshire Give a Child a Chance

We are receiving an increasing number of Give a Child a Chance applications, particularly to assist individual children, like:

£1,000 towards a home computer for John, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy and significant visual impairment

£485 to buy Fred a new outdoor walking frame so he can play with his siblings and friends.

£955 to convert Simon’s bedroom into a sensory room. Simon’s autistic spectrum disorder means he can become easily distressed and frightened of the outside world

£1,000 towards a powered wheelchair for Caroline, who has recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis affecting her major joints.

This year we have been helped by support from Newbury Racecourse and Blagrave Trust. Staff at St James Group Ltd and Thames Water are running the Reading Half Marathon to raise funds for local children like these, and local radio stations will be running events to encourage listeners to donate too.
