Celebrating Local Giving for Local Need
Berkshire Community Foundation Celebrating Local Giving for Local Need
On Thursday 22nd November, the Berkshire Community Foundation will be celebrating another 6 months of successful fundraising in support of many voluntary groups and individuals around the county.
The event, which is held twice a year, is kindly hosted by Business Objects in Maidenhead and will provide a unique opportunity to donors and grants recipients to meet and talk about unprecedented needs throughout the county of Berkshire as well as the best possible ways in which these problems can be addressed.
We promise an inspiring occasion! A total of £407,067.57 worth of grants has been distributed during the last six months to 178 groups and 23 individuals. Representatives from voluntary groups will talk about the difference these grants are making to their work in supporting local children, families and individuals.
Our guest list of over a 100 people includes local MP Fiona MacTaggart, MP Teresa May, Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead Leo Walters, Slough Borough Councillors David McIsaac and May Dodds and representatives from major corporate supporters, such as Blandy & Blandy, Goodman, Sara Lee, MARS, Panasonic and BMW.
The event will start with welcome speeches by Vice Chairman for Grants Ray Tapken and Vice President of Business Objects Chris Elsmore as well as a financial update by the Berkshire Community Foundation’s CEO Robin Draper. LNF Grants Officer Hazel Broad and BCF Grants Officer Ray Emmans will present their case studies of grants beneficiaries. There will follow presentations of Donor Plaques to Vice President of Business Objects Chris Elsmore and Chief Executive of Goodman Jeff Pulsford. The event will end with remarks by Councillor Leo Walters Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead and a special thanks speech by the Chairman of Berkshire Community Foundation Richard Griffith-Jones, after which there will be time for networking and group photographs.
