Unclaimed assets - consultation published
The Commission for Unclaimed Assets reports to the Treasury today (July 12). It recommends the creation of a social investment bank to help finance charitable and voluntary projects by providing seed capital and loan guarantees.
The COMMUNITY FOUNDATION NETWORK, of which Berkshire Community Foundation is a member, has made a submission to the Commission, making a vigourous case for community owned endowments during the ensuing consultation. Efforts so far have resulted in recognition that community foundations are one of the specialist intermediaries with whom the social investment bank should work.
