Business Centre Celebrates First Train to Gain Success
Business Centre Celebrates First Train to Gain Success
Newbury College Business Centre is celebrating the success of Dale Smith, their first learner to achieve an NVQ Level 2 qualification through the Train to Gain scheme. Dale, who has worked at Thatcham based company, EuroTech, as a Customer Support Operative since January 2006, gained his award in Customer Service.
“It’s really nice to have a qualification for the role I do,” said Dale. “Completing the award has helped me to improve in my role and has made me feel good that I still have the ability to learn new things and achieve a nationally recognised qualification quite some time after leaving school. It shows it’s never too late to achieve new goals – everyone should have a go!”
Paul Christie, EuroTech Technical Director added,” The training exercises Dale undertook has helped us to improve our level of service by giving us the opportunity to re-evaluate our current processes. We’ve always had a good relationship with our customers, but we’re now receiving thank you letters from them! Smaller companies can benefit most from the scheme as they gain the benefits of a motivated and enthusiastic workforce without loosing staff to offsite training. EuroTech really appreciate the help Newbury College Business Centre have given us to achieve our goals.”
