B2B Portfolio has Ceased Trading
B2B Portfolio, the organisers of the B2B Thames Valley event, have run into financial difficulties resulting in the organisation ceasing trading last week. It seems there has been no official notification or announcement by the company, leaving many customers unaware of this development.
B2B Portfolio comprised a series of seven business exhibitions and conferences across the UK, targeted at key decision makers, buyers, owners, managers and directors representing small to medium-sized companies. The Thames Valley event took place in September 2006 and attracted around 200 exhibitors.
The success of the event prompted other Berkshire businesses to sign up for an exhibition stand at the 2007 event. Now those that have already paid deposits will face an uncertain wait to find out where they stand with regard to getting their money back.
One company we spoke to explained they had already spent close to £3000 on their stand for this year’s event – not to mention the time, effort, and planning that has been spent in preparation. They only found out about that B2B had ceased trading through a letter they received from the Chamber of Commerce – they have heard nothing official from B2B Portfolio themselves.
There are rumours that B2B Portfolio are looking for another organisation to take them over and continue trading, although this hasn’t been confirmed. The company were actively promoting the Thames Valley event in January and although the B2B Portfolio homepage appears to have been taken down, the pages promoting the Thames Valley event are still live.
