Tooth coloured fillings

Tooth coloured fillings versus amalgam fillings

Many of our patients voice their concerns about the mercury contained in this amalgam, not to mention the copper, zinc and silver. The metals pollute both our clinic and our local environment.
Dr Day has decided that amalgam has no place in a progressive and modern Clinic.

We only use tooth coloured restorations and have done for some years now.
Special chemicals, that are fully bio-degradable, are used to clean your tooth surface, before the filling material (which is selected to match your teeth) is bonded into position. The 'super glues' used are perfectly safe, and provided your tooth coloured fillings are placed in a suitably prepared tooth, they will last a minimum of 5 to 8 years, dependant on the size of your restoration, and how much of your tooth structure it replaces.
The larger your restoration, the less time they will last, and for many of the larger restorations, you should be considering a crown or a Cerec porcelain restoration to fully restore your tooth to its original shape and function.
