Zoom 2 whitening procedure information
Zoom 2 whitening procedure information

A plastic cheek retractor is placed to hold your lips and cheeks out of the way. Cottonwool and gauze is placed to protect your lips and a special mask is placed over your gums to protect them. A high factor protection cream is placed over any of your exposed skin and lip. The whitening gel is quite strong and can make your gums very sore if we allow it to contact. You’ll have sunglasses to wear to protect your eyes

The light activated whitening gel is then placed on your teeth by the dentist, and the light is brought into close contact with your teeth

You then lay there listening to your music for 15-20 minutes whilst the gel takes effect. The light is attached to a bite block to keep it close to your teeth

After 20 minutes, the light goes off, and is moved away, the gel is removed, fresh gel is applied, and the light placed back in position and turned on. This happens 3 or 4 times altogether, depending on the shade of your teeth and your personal comfort

Some people do experience some sensitivity to their teeth, but this usually dissipates after 24 hours

At the end of the procedure we take another set of photos. You can have a set to take home if you wish
