Tim Meloni joined Alghero Tilecraft in 2005. It’s a family run business launched by his parents John and June Meloni back in 1973. John was born in Alghero, Sardinia, and wanted to bring the beautiful tiles of his homeland to the UK market. 34 years later, the company have an outstanding reputation as the main source of designer tiles from Italy. Tim explains: ‘We deal with around 30 of the top Italian tiling factories and have built strong relationships with them over the years. This means we can offer the very latest ‘cutting-edge’ designs from Italy – and we’re usually the first in the UK to have these designs available’.

A look round their recently revamped showroom at Hazlemere Crossroads, High Wycombe, proves the point. Here you will find a huge range of high quality Italian tiles - an incredible selection of floor and wall tiles in an array of sizes and textures, as well as borders in glass, marble, travertine and mosaics.

The company’s clientele ranges from purely domestic through to commercial. ‘We’re keen to work closely with architects, property developers and interior designers’ says Tim. ‘Whether the customer is looking for something classic, or the latest designs on the market, we always have plenty of choice available in our showroom. We’re planning to extend our warehouse in 2008 which will mean we’ll carry even more stock than we do now’.
