Pete and Warren's Big Paddle 2007

Wed 15th August Up at 05.30 to ferry participants, boats and gear to start point, finally on the water at 08.20 then 2 ½ hours battling through fallen trees until Brunch (sarnies) in the sun at Lechlade. We’re both struggling to put our spraydecks on. Torrential rain most of the following 9 hours through wilderness of the upper reaches, punctuated by the odd cheery lock-keeper but hardly any traffic until Oxford finally came into view at dusk. Curry and pints as antidote to muscle fatigue and ‘worst of 1970’s style’ B&B.

Antiques & Collectables Valuation Day

The day was very successful in drawing in the crowds both in the early morning and afternoon rush. Also attracting a steady stream throughout the day of the general public, keen to have their prized possessions valued by Thomas Plant (as seen on BBC ‘Flog It’ and ‘Bargain Hunt’). With all proceeds going to Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust (ADCCT), at £2 per valuation, the day raised £200, which meant both Neil and Thomas were kept very busy.

Oxfordshire Golf Club Charity Day

The Golf day went very well as the weather kept dry and the championship golf course was in superb condition, which was appreciated by all 88 players playing in fairly windy conditions, and on lightening quick greens for which The Oxfordshire golf course is renowned.

The Summer Ball

Organised and run by Diane & Laurence Armstrong. On Saturday the 9th June 2007 a summer ball was held at the Holiday Inn Maidenhead in aid of ADCCT.

The Heaven Sent Ball

As the guests were seated for dinner, the spectacular glamour of the evening became fully evident in the heavenly theme of white and silver. Guests wined and dined until midnight, happy in the knowledge that their presence at the ball was helping to fund this very worthy cause.

On a cold January night approximately 65 ladies ventured out for a Scrummy Mummy Curry Night in aid of the Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust.
