Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust

On Saturday the 9th June 2007 a summer ball was held at the Holiday Inn Maidenhead in aid of ADCCT.

2007 saw the fourth year of fundraising by the Armstrong’s and, fortunately for us, their most successful, raising over £11,000.

The evening began with a Pimms reception followed by numerous ice-breaker games, such as heads and tails. There followed a three course meal, a silent auction, a raffle and a regular auction.

Laurence proved to have a natural flare as an auctioneer making the auction very entertaining as well as raising lots of money! Diane ran the whole evening like clockwork, a true professional.

Prizes consisted of a signed Pele shirt, and Zola football shirt, signed items from Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom and a holiday villa in Florida to name but a few. In the silent auction there were also tickets to the English Ballet.
The evening ended with extended hours, enabling the dancing to go on till 1:30am.

A few word’s from Diane and Laurence themselves;

“Our 4th ball was for Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust. A charity in the hearts of several friends from school, and on meeting Fiona & John it was an easy choice.

We are truly proud to have been involved in promoting this charity which is now firmly in our hearts, and we will continue networking with others about the fabulous opportunity we have to be involved in it.

What more can I say but we look forward to seeing you on 14th June 2008 – at The Holiday Inn, Maidenhead.”
