“The lottery is go!” announced Gerry as Parky pulled out the first ball to an excited audience. “Would it be me?” “Let it be me” The anticipation was more than most could bear. The lady mayor of Windsor was about to put the Royal chain on black but was stopped by the mayor of Slough, also in attendance for this memorable occasion.

Stevie Horton Fundraising Manager said, ‘I am thrilled to be working in such a spacious office; this fits in well with the Trust’s planned growth strategy. The staff at Alcan have been very welcoming and supportive and we look forward to the new working relationship.

Stars raise money for ADCCT

The entertainment was kicked off by a solo from Mr Frank McKay, followed by Laurie Holloway who demonstrated his piano skills which have seen him perform with the greatest stars. Kenny Lynch performed jazz favourites in his own spectacular way followed by Rolf Harris who sang, joked and played his didgeridoo, receiving a well deserved standing ovation. The spectacular cabaret was rounded off with non-stop laughter and another standing ovation from guests as comedian Mr Bobby Davro closed the proceedings.

Pete and Warren's Big Paddle 2007

Wed 15th August Up at 05.30 to ferry participants, boats and gear to start point, finally on the water at 08.20 then 2 ½ hours battling through fallen trees until Brunch (sarnies) in the sun at Lechlade. We’re both struggling to put our spraydecks on. Torrential rain most of the following 9 hours through wilderness of the upper reaches, punctuated by the odd cheery lock-keeper but hardly any traffic until Oxford finally came into view at dusk. Curry and pints as antidote to muscle fatigue and ‘worst of 1970’s style’ B&B.
