CDM 2007, What is your Role?
The Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007 (CDM 2007) came into effect on 01st April 2007, the next key date is 01st April 2008 when key factors of Competenacy come into play.

To assist each duty holder in meeting their Statutory Obligations under CDM 2007, the HSE have produced L144 Managing Health and Safety in Construction, which can be purchased via HSE Books.

Absolute Health and Safety Solutions Ltd have wide experience with low to medium sized projects, details of our competence with respect to the role of CDM Coordinator is available on request. This will involve coordinating:

  • The Notification of the project to Health and Safety Executive
  • - in accordance with Schedule 1 of the regulations.
  • With the Client and advising on the control measures that are required to comply with the CDM 2007
  • - ensuring appointment of competent designers and contractors, and ensuring that adequate arrangements are in place for managing the project.
  • The Health and Safety measures during the planning and preparation of the construction phase of the project.

  • With the principal contractor and designer with respect to any design development which may affect the planning and management of the project
  • - regular project meetings with all relevant parties.
  • The collation, documentation and issue of all relevant information relating to the project to all designers and contractors related to the project.
  • - preparation and issue of a Project H&S Information Plan
  • With the principal contractor with details that are required for the Construction Health and Safety Plan and compliance with regulations 26 to 44 of CDM 2007

  • The Periodic review of the designers risk assessments during the project and communicate with all relevant parties during the construction phase to ensure suitable cooperation between the principal contractor and designers.

  • The preparation of the Health and Safety File and on completing submit in full to the client
