Where to start with Risk Assessments

Undertaking an assessment of the Hazard’s in the workplace and addressing the Risks correctly will improve productivity and protect your assets – whether they are your workforce or products. Where the workplace is concerned there are five simple steps when undertaking a Risk Assessment as dictated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
• Step 1: Identify the hazards • Step 2: Decide who might be harmed and how • Step 3: Evaluate the risks and decide on precaution • Step 4: Record your findings and implement them • Step 5: Review your assessment and update if necessary To also assist Businesses in Berkshire in identifying what Health and Safety Guidance is available for them the HSE has information available free on line in many Business Sectors. Do not over look the responibility for Disabled Workers in your work place, the main rule of thumb is never make assumptions about Disabled Workers, Best Practice is involve the work force at all stages - believe it or not it can save time and money.
