Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are the most common occupational illness in Great Britain, affecting 1.0 million people a year. They include problems such as low back pain, joint injuries and repetitive strain injuries of various sorts.
The overall aim of the European campaign on Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) from the 22nd - 26th October 2007 (and beyond) is to support employers, workers, safety representatives, practitioners, preventive services, policy makers and other stakeholders in improving MSD prevention at workplace level.
The campaign website contains free material (The word that everyone likes) that can be utilised by employers, employees, teachers, students and anyone who feels that they can contribute to reducing the risk when dealing with MSD's.
If you are sitting at a computer reading this article - then MSD can affect you.
There are many ways that you can contribute to the European Campaign on Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) during October 2007 and beyond with a wealth of free information available - Ideas, Free Literature, the HSE website has NAPO to assist or their Better Backs Campaign and not forgetting the FREE booklets available from the HSE.
So really, there is absolutely not excuse for individuals, employers or employees to suffer in silence, protect your assets, look after the employees that make or support the product which in turn will create the profit to look after the company.
NO more aches and pains which can lead to NO loss time, NO lost productivity, NO lost profit and NO extra expenses for temporary staff, NO accident and illness claims and NO increased insurance claims. Only 'YES' to healthy individuals and employees and a healthy business....it makes perfect sense.
SUPPORTING THE MSD CAMPAIGN IN OCTOBER 2007 - CAN WORK FOR EVERYONE
