Top Search Engine Positions - Royal Ascot 2008

This year I decided that I would put some extra energy into our Business in Ascot space with an emphasis on Royal Ascot 2008.

In 2006, out of the blue, Brian Smith sent me a page of hot tips for the first day's racing at Royal Ascot. He thought they may be of interest to some of our readers. I duly added them to the site each day and pointed people in their direction. During May that year, 40 people took a wander around our Business in Ascot space.

Good morning <07 Name>

Yesterday I took part in a networking triathlon. This was not an officially recognised networking triathlon but one that came about through no fault of my own but one which needless to say I won in flying colours since there was only one entrant!

It started with an eye opening at 05:45 on 24th June 2008. The sun was shining, the birds a singing and I considered "just another 5 minutes" but I knew what would happen if I did. Out of bed I flew in anticipation of seeing Blenheim Palace in the morning sun.

I got myself washed and dressed... clever me!! And then flipped the laptop for 20 minutes and set off for Blenheim Palace at 07:00. It's about 45 miles, motorway most of the way but we thought it may take 90 minutes to get there. A little earlier than anticipated I rolled up the drive and took in what must be one of the most magnificent views in the world.

A couple of hours later I'm leaving the Palace and off to London to the Online Marketing & Media Show 2008 where I was looking to find new PR contacts and also find out what the latest monetising opportunities are for great seo sites such as ours.

Back home at around 5pm, a quick freshen up and off to the launch of the Windsor Festival 2008... and that's my networking triathlon for 2008!

Employees become de motivated

Employees become de motivated, less focused and engaged in their role. Team work starts to break down as employees fear for the worst and are unsure of direction and vision of where the organisation is now heading and where they fit in. Individuals attitudes begin to weaken and commitment to achieving company goals and targets lessen.

In times like this it is crucial to ensure that employees are aware of where your sales organisation is headed, the plans you have in place to overcome the economic storm and how they will be supported in the journey. However when panic strikes an organisation many revert to a tell style, 'the weak will go the strong will make it' culture begins however fear is only a good motivator when channelled correctly.

Environmental car leasing

2008 is the year in which it will become possible to save the planet whilst driving a top-end car. Honda's FCX Clarity - the world's first hydrogen fuel cell car - is to be rolled out in a bid to make motoring more environmentally friendly.

How does it work?
The FCX Clarity's 171-litre tank feeds hydrogen into its fuel cell stack, where it combines with atmospheric oxygen to produce electricity. Of course, the by-product is water, so this car is as green as can be. Excess power is stored in a lithium ion battery.

Widening participation

Widening participation in learning helps students to achieve and succeed. Students who participate more readily in their education feel more engaged and have a greater sense of confidence which they are then likely to carry forward into their working lives as adults. The more that students participate in their learning and education, the more likely they are to report a sense of understanding what is required of them. In turn, this will lead to greater success, better integration with other students and a permanent boost in self-esteem.

Contextual Advertising

Wimbledon is upon us and after the success of our Royal Ascot meeting 2008 I feel the need to create some contextual advertising content around Wimbledon. But what should we talk about?

If we're going to maximise the contextual advertising spend, then we need to find out what people are searching rather than make assumptions as this could take us down the wrong track. We'll check our search string aggregator, add a little salt and common sense to the mix and see what drops out of the bottom.

Work Related Road Safety

Did you know that one third of all traffic incidents involve someone who was driving for business? That's what government estimates state. If you're an employer with staff who drive as part of their working day - particularly those who drive for long hours or put in a lot of miles - you need to think about work related road safety legislation. This applies to staff driving cars, vans, lorries, motorbikes, scooters and even pushbikes. Commuting to and from the normal place of work is not covered by risk assessment requirements.

Top views in the World

One of the best views in the world must be from the drive at Blenheim Palace. Tuesday 24th June saw me enter the drive at Blenheim Palace at 07:30am!

For those who have seen Blenheim Palace from this angle there is no finer sight. The lawn sweeps down to the lake to your right and to the left there is Blenheim Palace in all its glory. Magnificent!

Online Marketing & Media Show 2008

The Online Marketing & Media Show 2008 was part of my networking triathlon on Tuesday 24th June 2008. Read about the other elements: the best view in the world; Windsor Festival 2008.

On walking into the Online Marketing & Media Show 2008 there was a presentation going on right in front of me. Excellent place to put the presentation as people know where to go for the seminar they were hoping to catch but it reminded me why I'm not a great fan of listening to seminars. The noise in the space, ouchhhhhh! I visualised myself drifting off to the sound of someone's ego telling me how it is and swiftly moved on.

New 'well being' CD from Brian Doran - "Confidence"

The 'Well being' market is a burgeoning field with more and more people looking to improve quality of their life. People regard health to be generally associated with the physical aspects rather than mental, whilst well-being is more to do with state of mind.

Health no longer means the absence of disease. The World Health Organisation now define health in terms of preventing disease and stress with an active lifestyle & how it can be achieved through promoting personal responsibility for making lifestyle choices. Well-being for most is the opposite of feeling stressed - a state of contentment, calmness and inner peace.
