A Unique Christmas Gift

Windsor based entrepreneur Richard Brooks has hit upon an unusual idea that could prove to be the most thoughtful Christmas gift you'll ever give: it's a virtual time capsule that allows you to gather photos, videos, music, and words. You have a year to fill it and once complete it will be kept safe for at least 100 years for future posterity.

The virtual time capsule is proving to be an unusual and unique gift. Essentially it consists of a dedicated webspace to which pictures, video and audio clips, thoughts and writings can be uploaded over a 365 day period. The capsule's contents are safe for 100 years and can either be viewed by anyone, password protected (to be shared with family and friends) or 'buried' until a pre-determined date in the future.

Christmas Gift Ideas

Last year we created our Christmas in Berkshire web space and it's already picking up traffic for 2007.

A search for Christmas promotion finds BinB in top spot and at least 26 people have tried that search in October and found our BinB website.

Our September stats are showing 56 different search strings being used by people searching for Christmas information. From lights being switched on to, Christmas songs, funky calendars, wine tasting and top of the tree with 14 searches, Christmas promotion.

Good morning <07 Name>

Next week we've got a great Christmas idea lined up for your viewing pleasure... do you have a product that is just perfect for Christmas? Well our Christmas in Berkshire space is just the perfect place to publish your Christmas message! Why, only yesterday I had an email from a guy at Microsoft who requested we change the content of last year's Christmas Fair page as they were getting loads of enquiries about the fair for this year!

A BinB page isn't just for Christmas, it's for the longer term. Go Google: Christmas promotion and see who is the daddy... then go and choose your Membership. Content can take time to ferment and be ready for consumption... the sooner you start sowing; the quicker you can start reaping.

The half term breaks project is kicking off this year. It's doing great this year but we're looking at this for the longer term. Next year, after the content has been seasoned, it will produce the results we are looking for.

Mary's been commissioned as a guest speaker at a Women's Enterprise Workshop on 14th November. Then on the 15th she'll be the Queen of networking at our Innovation Showcase event... we're just finalising the details, pencil out the 15th November for some top networking in Reading and we'll bring you the details on Monday. We'll be bringing you the top innovative ideas from the Thames Valley Innovation Conference and giving those who can help innovators the opportunity to tell them how they can help... get yourself along, 15th, pencil it out.

True Concept have come up with a brilliant idea, remote monitoring of PC's. Perfect for parents with kids who are at that age where they are exploring the unknown. They need protecting, not monitoring for the sake of it, and Ken's toolkit is perfect for the job.

LiaiseOnline is using its SEO toolkit to build the profile of a number of its own websites, alongside client projects. The aim, to be able to say to you 8 out of 10 Internet cats prefer their pages served with a hint of BinB herbal essence. Your choice is: Do I join in now or later! May we suggest you join in sooner, rather than later, to allow the virtual rain to give nourishment to your content, preparing it and you for a prosperous future.

Thank you for reading today's news and if you plan on getting along this lunchtime to Baylis House to speak to the government Ministers, (the guys who actually do make the decisions), I'll see you there.

Contextual Links - the Way to Get Noticed Online

Getting good rankings on Google can take time, patience, persistence and usually ends up costing money too. One way to speed up the process is by establishing reciprocal links to and from your website. It works, but it can be a time-consuming task to set these links up. Wouldn't it be great if someone came up with a painless way to create relevant contextual links within the pages of your site?

Adding stacks of links to your website used to be considered essential if you wanted to get noticed by the search engines. 'Link Farms' sprung up, from which you could harvest vast numbers of links for your site - many of which were highly unsuitable and had little bearing on the content of your pages...

Mary Flavelle and The Dragon Slayer

Networking specialist Mary Flavelle has been asked to replace Dragon's Den's Paige Allen as guest speaker at the Women's Enterprise Workshop on 14th November. Part of Enterprise Week 2007, the free workshop is aimed at women who are either interested in setting up their own business or have already done so. The Holiday Inn in Guildford is the chosen venue.

Owing to unforeseen circumstances, Paige Allen unfortunately had to withdraw from speaking at the Women's Enterprise Workshop. Mary Flavelle, a networking specialist and manager of Ladies Who Latte (Maidenhead branch), was delighted when organisers invited her to step in to take her place.
