Good morning <Name>
Kevin Marsdon

Yesterday I received a call from Kevin Marsdon's wife Sue.

Kevin sadly passed away on Monday. He'd been poorly for a while and Kevin was ready to move on.

I'd like to put a tribute together next week. If you knew Kevin and would like to say a few words, please send them to me via email and I'll include them.

Sue is happy for anyone who knew him to attend the cremation at Easthampstead Crematorium at 10:30am Friday 2nd March.

There will be a collection for a Buddhist Eco Village he was involved with.

Kevin and I connected, working together on a project we called "smile and dial". We combined his wealth of experience in communication with my email marketing knowledge and ran a number of workshops. He was the first copy writer on Business in Berkshire.

I will think of him fondly, a genuinely nice man who was always calm, even when tailgating, Italian style, behind the wheel of his Ferrari!

He would have enjoyed the spoof UN story below...

SPECIAL SCREENING OF AL GORE’S FILM AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH

at The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Cookham at 7.30pm Friday March 16th 2007

Cookham’s Kedida Project is organizing a special screening of Al Gore's film - An Inconvenient Truth at the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Cookham, at 7.30pm on Friday 16 March. This is a two-hour documentary film that brings to life the threats caused by climate change/global warming. It has had a major impact on public opinion in the USA and increasingly in the UK where it is now on public release. Associate Director of Christian Aid Matthew Reed will introduce the film and at the end will tell us more about the Kedida project and the impact it will have on people’s lives and well-being.

Record Advance Orders for Sony Playstation 3
Record Advance Orders for Sony Playstation 3
High street retailers Woolworths have announced they are taking advance orders for the new Sony Playstation 3 at an amazing rate of 1 every 20 seconds – the fiercest demand they’ve ever experienced for any gaming console. This comes despite widespread criticism of the playstation’s high price.

Gamers have had a long wait for the new Playstation and despite the £425 price tag, the system looks set to fly off the shelves when it becomes available in the UK during March. Production delays initially held back the launch according to an official statement by the company: "the delay in the mass production schedule of the blue laser diode within the Sony Group, thus affecting the timely procurement of key components to be utilised in PlayStation 3." (The ‘blue laser diode’ is a key component of the PS3’s Blu-Ray drive.)

Third world development: UN suggest internet fraud
Third world development
The United Nations is proposing a radical new way to end poverty in Africa; training farmers to switch from subsistence agriculture to internet fraud.

‘It’s simple;’ said Mr James Bowen, UN Spokesman for Development. ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him to phish, and before you know it he’s ordering a Merc and moving fast up the Nigerian rich list.’

Practical help to overstretched small businesses
Practical help to overstretched small businesses
Fish In Custard offers practical help to overstretched small businesses.

Small businesses often have too much to do and not enough time in which to do it, especially when chasing down new orders or projects takes priority. Trouble is, that can leave an event short of visitors, the office admin piling up with unsent (and therefore unpaid) customer invoices and overdue VAT payments.

Fish In Custard offers a variety of business services to small firms whose best intentions remain just that. So they will keep your back office admin up to date, carry out research projects, undertake marketing and PR campaigns and manage events, which recently included a series of student roadshows to promote the business strategy tool, Yomp.
