today welcomed the announcement from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
detailing the implementation of the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment) Directive. Under the legislation producers and importers of
electrical and electronic goods will, from July 2007, be required to meet the
environmental costs of dealing with waste products. |

Good for Business Many businesses have reacted with dismay to the
forthcoming smoking ban in workplaces, but pubs in Newbury have welcomed the
news and insist it will be good for business. A number of pubs in West
Berkshire have decided to go smoke-free even before the July 1st enforcement
date and proprietors say they have noticed a positive effect on trade

 Bracknell Bus Company Fills Up
on Soya A Bracknell bus company has become the first in the UK to
convert its vehicles to run on soya oil. Courtney Coaches has converted eight
of its vehicles to 100 per cent soya oil, according to the company's website,
and plans to convert the remaining 34 coaches over the coming year.
