| Welcome to
Business in Berkshire |
|
| Good Morning
|
|
HotAV have been helping Wycombe Wanderers get their message
out to the globe!
25 years on, Bracknell Royal Naval Association would
like us to remember the
Falklands. I was just a kid back then, working at Safeways
to earn a crust! Did we
eat healthier back then? Not sure, just seems that
way.
If you are into photography, go enter the LPA
photography competition.
No offer of the day today
because those we have are more business focussed and I want light hearted
offers for the weekend... any ideas?
Enjoy! |

 Healthy Meals for
Kids Sometimes it seems children simply arent interested in
the foods that are good for you although theyre quite happy
to gorge on chocolate and biscuits. The good news is that theres plenty
parents can do to improve nutrition and encourage healthy eating habits in
their children from toddlers to teens.
Most dietary surveys
conclude that children and teenagers do not eat enough fresh fruit and
vegetables, dairy foods, fish, or lean meat. They have also become less active
which, coupled with poor diet, can lead to future health risks. In fact teenage
diets seem to fare worst of all unfortunately at a time when growth
spurts and puberty demand increased nutrition. |

 Online Video Ads gain
popularity Video advertising and research firm eMarketer recently
predicted that spending on video adverts could triple in 2007. Although video
still only accounts for a small percentage of overall advertising spending,
its certainly a medium which smart marketers are keen to pursue.
It seems the general public have taken online video media to their hearts, with
social networking sites like MySpace and YouTube bringing out the amateur
filmmaker in many of us. Indeed it is this acceptance of video media that
marketers are keen to exploit. And with such a large audience happy to view
video online, the doors are wide open. |

 Keeping Those New Year
Resolutions Making New Years resolutions is easy
sticking to them is another thing altogether. Whether youve resolved to
lose weight, grow your business, get fitter, or spend more time with the
family, what can you do to ensure you stay focused on your goals and dont
let them fall by the wayside by February? Here are a few tips to help you
maintain your momentum.
Why do so many New Years resolutions
fail? One of the biggest reasons is that we simply set ourselves unrealistic
targets instead of setting our sights on something that is genuinely
achievable. In the same vein, unless you break down your goal into small steps,
you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed (how will I ever lose this 3
stone? for example). |

 Charity Pancake Day Race in
Staines, 20th Feb A charity pancake race will be taking place in
Staines High Street on Tuesday 20th February. The event organisers - Staines
Partnership and Spelthorne Borough Council - are looking to raise money for the
Shop Mobility charity.
To enable the organisers to put on a good event
and raise lots of money, they are seeking both a sponsor for the event as a
whole and donors for the three or four prizes that will be offered. There will
be plenty of opportunities for advertising and significant press coverage for
this unique event and it is open to all. |

Terminal 5 on Schedule for Next
Year Heathrow Airports vast new Terminal 5 is reaching 90%
completion and looks all set to open on schedule during March 2008. One of
Europes largest construction projects, Terminal 5 represents a £4.2
billion investment by the airports operator, BAA, and will secure
Heathrows position as Europes leading gateway airport.
Initial plans for a 5th terminal at Heathrow began in 1985 with a final
design application being submitted by BAA in February 1993. The public enquiry
that followed was the longest in British planning history with the Government
finally granting approval late in 2001 for construction to commence the
following summer. |
