Last month we shot a couple of videos using the garden as a back drop, the water feature providing a relaxing sound to our jolly interesting video! The trouble was, I was wearing my casual jeans and it was felt by some that this was just a little too relaxed.
Well go check out this month's video on the home page. Not only are we dressed in business attire but we have professional interviewer, in the form of Geoff Motley, asking the questions. Hanif was "just the cameraman" on the shoot! Geoff and Hanif came over for a few hours and they started by setting the environment. Talking double dutch and a touch of bollywood, or was that bolly uks! Eventually they were ready for yours truly to get involved. We nailed it in a couple of takes and then while Hanif edited and encoded the footage, Geoff and I worked on his BinB micro site.
We started by looking at what his market place are searching for. He's looking to help budding TV presenters get off the ground and so "TV presenter courses London" made a great deal of sense. We extracted content from his existing website and he added a few new words.
While we were shooting he'd mentioned that he wanted to talk to Virgin Media as they've always got a stock of young hopefuls and he could make their day. So I recommended that we write an article addressed to Virgin Media. Why? Because Virgin Media will be looking for stories on Virgin Media through their PR people and I feel very confident that their PR people, being professionals, will be tuned into Google alerts and because we have mentioned Virgin Media in the title and body of the article then this would get picked up and pushed out to those tuned in to the most up to date news, gossip, articles etc about Virgin Media.
There is a significant chance that this article could follow a similar path as Virgin Media are mentioned 7 times in this article. And do you know the best thing about pushing out the story was that within 5 minutes of us pushing it out it was No 1 on Google for the title of the article... and Geoff was amazed. We'd "Shown him the money" in a Tom Cruise type of way!
The article has since dipped down but not for long, it will be back as Geoff gets in the rhythm and adds new stories as they come to him. And this is what each and every micro site owner should be doing right here, right NOW! Adding content about their industry and combining this with their dreams, hopes and aspirations in the form of regular articles that will grab the attention of those interested in their world. Our content flies high, just check out the ethical Christmas gift story for this week. That space rocks because it's been alive a few years and this year is the opportunity for boom time if those in the gift world tune in to what we have to say.
