Networking News Business in Berkshire

Good morning <Name>
Jon Davey
While preparing this newsletter, I got a call from Richard, the chap who stood in for me yesterday. Anyway, he got a call from someone he hadn't heard from for 15 years. They've arranged to meet up and who knows where it might lead. Who needs friends reunited when they've got BinB!

Bringing people together is what networks are all about. People deal with people, they like to get to know them before they consider the business side of things.

Dave tells me they have around 30 for this Friday's NRG lunch. What they have failed to mention in their blurb is that both Christine and Hannah will be doing a double act. Hannah will give a 5 minute presentation during lunch on our Innovation Showcase and Christine will balance this with a 5 minute presentation on Women in Business in preparation for our Networking month in March.

How are you fixed for the 1st March, friends of mine at Yomp need some business experts to help mould the workforce of tomorrow!

Enjoy!

Recognising Customers in Innovative Ways
Recognising Customers
Looking for an innovative way to recognise and reward your customers? Newbury-based Recognition Express could well have the answer. The firm offer a fascinating range of promotional products and business gifts including pens, awards, badges, document holders. They can also be counted on to provide something extra – as this story shows.

MD Tony Quinn – known as Quinney – explains: ‘We recently produced a thousand branded USB Flashdrives for one of our clients. They were to be used as promotional giveaways at a product launch they were presenting to their top customers.’ A fairly typical request – the type of project Recognition Express handle all the time – but in this case, the firm came up with an innovative twist. ‘The client asked us if there was something extra we could provide that would really make an impact on their customers, so we hit upon the idea of supplying the USBs pre-staged with a promotional presentation.’

How Clean is the Air Indoors?
How Clean is the Air Indoors?
In recent years there’s been a growing body of scientific evidence suggesting the air inside our homes can actually be just as polluted as the outdoor air in a large industrial town. With studies showing that people spend around 90% of their time indoors, it’s never been more important to minimise the risk of air pollution exposure – indoors rather than outdoors.

Old back-to-back houses of the early 1900s were often regarded as unhygienic and potential death traps. But there are growing concerns that we may have simply swapped one set of health hazards for another. Today’s sophisticated homes, with their high levels of insulation, triple-glazing, and draught excluders mean many of us could be breathing in stale air.

Green Tea Easter Eggs – Healthy Easter Gift Idea
Green Tea Easter Eggs – Healthy Easter Gift Idea
China’s Secret Teas have come up with an unusual Easter gift. Instead of the traditional chocolate Easter eggs, or easter baskets crammed with sweets, they’ve introduced some hand-crafted Easter eggs made from green tea, a healthy sugar-free alternative Easter gift with a difference.

Even though some traditional Easter gifts, such as bonnets or flowers, are inedible, most Easter gifts and basket fillers are edible and sweet. Why would anyone put green tea (even when hand-crafted to look like a chocolate Easter egg) in an Easter basket or give it to someone as an Easter gift?
