Good morning <07 Name>

A third of the way through July and I'm getting that summer feeling... the beach is calling! It could be all that rock and roll that we've seen on TV the last two weekends. All those rock bands promoting peace and harmony with the planet and the audience connecting... then the fans exit Glastonbury leaving all their crap behind them! Due to a mix up, thousands of tents left by revellers which were meant to be collected by charities to reuse, have ended up being binned... that'll be environmental consideration!

With our carbon footprint we may enter the national recycling awards. We do try and recycle... more importantly, we do try to source things locally... do you?

The next few days I'll be at Newbury College, taking part in the Berkshire Business Show. Get yourself along, you may learn something new, you may bump into some old mates or you could connect with someone who needs what you have to offer. We did contact most of the exhibitors and offer space to promote themselves for FREE but as with all things in life... only 20% moved forward and took us up on the offer. Nigel Morgan will be pleased he did... a quick search for: The secrets of great public relations, finds his article on BinB in the top spot.

Turns out a couple of old pals connected through our newsletter last week... I was at NRG in Bracknell last week and one of the guests told me how by attending one of the events promoted in BinB 3 years ago, he landed a monster deal... you never know what's going to happen next!

Have you landed a deal as a result of our newsletter? Either directly or indirectly, we'd like to hear your story... we could publish it here for FREE and you never know, you might double your money!!

Business in Berkshire is also keen to hear from businesses:

¥ with seminars and events they need to promote
¥ in the creative sector looking for exposure
¥ in need of Internet Marketing services
¥ looking for a refreshing design this summer!

Send us an email, phone 01753 852904 or even post us a letter... whichever way you choose to say hello, please do... you may like to pop along to our Internet Marketing Business Seminar. If you're thinking about this opportunity later, Google: Internet Marketing Seminar... see who's the daddy!!

Enjoy today's news and make sure you phone at least one of the organisations so they know you're out there, reading the articles, enjoying the view!!

Welcome to the second issue of "The Meaning of Words" from SJ Copy. I hope you have all been well and enjoyed the first newsletter.

Words are even more important
In this day and age we are using words more and more. Emailing, texts and websites seem to have replaced the telephone and face to face communication. So it is even more important that we use the right words in our marketing literature.

Your Phone as Your Guide

'Augmented reality' - it's a term used to describe a combination of virtual and physical information. Researchers at Hewlett Packard (HP) have been playing with the concept for some time and last week launched a website that offers location-based games and city walking tours.

As more mobile devices include built-in sensors to detect position, light, and motion, developers at HP's Bristol, UK, lab have been experimenting and writing software to help people get the most from their mobile, a project known as mscapes, using location-based technologies.

The mscapes site offers a feature to allow users to customise the existing games and tours as well as create their own from scratch...

Master of Puppets

Jo Bryant - Pottytree Puppets

Writing a children's storybook marked the beginning of an exciting business venture for Twyford-based Jo Bryant. She now runs a unique business which uses puppets and role play in a series of workshops aimed at exploring aspects of children's - and adults' - behaviour.

After writing her first book, "Mrs Pottytree and the Flying Carpet" in 2001, teacher and drama specialist Jo Bryant searched for an intriguing way to bring her characters to life so she could demonstrate the story to schoolchildren. This led her to develop her own animated puppet shows featuring the book's characters.

Small Business Websites That Work

Business in Berkshire websites are designed to get results for your business. Our small business websites are a cost-effective way to get yourself online and start tapping into the power of the internet. If your website isn't bringing you the results you want, what can you do to help promote and grow your businesses?

The first step to creating an effective website for your small business is defining exactly what you want the website to do for you. Is it there merely as an online brochure to showcase your products? Are you going to be relying on the website to generate sales? Will you be selling directly from the site? Either way, it's crucial that potential visitors to your website can find the site easily when searching online.

Hairdresser with Healing Hands

The best hair salon in Leeds, 'Hair at the Park', is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere. Indeed many clients say they feel particularly relaxed after having their hair styled at Hair at the Park. The reason? One of the senior stylists, Cathy Foote, is also a gifted healer.

Cathy and business partner Karen McHale run their salon from the Sebastian Coe Health Club at the Ramada Leeds Parkway Hotel, Otley Road, Bramhope. Their clients not only get the benefit of first class high quality hair styling, they also enjoy having a 'gifted' senior stylist working at the studio.

Leasing a Mercedes C Class

Mercedes recently offered a tantalising first glimpse of the new c-class, a remarkable car that will set previously unseen standards for safety, comfort and agility in its sector. It's the 4th generation of Mercedes smallest saloon, a direct competitor to the BMW 3 Series.

Leasing a Mercedes C Class is an affordable option which offers plenty of advantages when compared to buying the car on a finance agreement. When you lease a Mercedes C Class, you only pay for the use of the vehicle and not the purchase price.

With car leasing, the driver's monthly payments cover the cost of the depreciation over the time they use the car, with the option to buy or return the vehicle at the end of the agreement. As leasing payments tend to be cheaper than purchasing, it's an affordable way to drive a new car.
