Good morning <07 Name>
Sometimes you need to give yourself a bit of breathing space and I'm increasingly thinking, this needs to be more than sometimes!
Yesterday I took our BLG Lunch Box to NRG's Marble Arch Group. Graham Jones was keynote speaker and then Dave was going to present our partnership offering to his network while I handed out A4 special features that featured the BLG Lunch Box offer on one side and the stats for week one of the business networking lunches.co.uk website on the other. But more about that later, breathing space...
I arrived in Paddington with 1 hour to spare. Dave had mentioned the hotel was only 15 minutes walk from the station, it was a nice day. It was Tuesday, I had a full folder of double sided A4 Special Features and there was a dog wearing sunglasses. Hit it I thought, obviously inspired by an old movie, not quite black and white and off I strode...
But which way to Marble Arch? If you don't know the way, ask a Policeman! Spotted bloke in brand new luminous jacket, he must work here I thought, he'll know the way. No, turns out he was a bus driver who'd been asked by 2 or 3 people already and wished he'd put on his shiny blazer and been anonymous! Then I found a chap with a FirstGW badge, he must know... a Polish chap, knew how to get to the underground but not sure how to get there over ground. Past a phone shop, money exchange and kebab shop and there was an estate agents, they'll know the way. Down here, turn left; at Edgware Road turn right, Marble Arch. Cool, thank you...
Off I strolled, checked the mobile, and made a couple of calls. At Edgware Road I turned right into what I thought was Turkey but have since been advised was Lebanon. So many shops selling "Turkish delight" and bongs of all shapes and sizes. One shop was 'blinged up' with gold mobile phones surrounded by tiny diamantes. How much mate? That one is £250, that one £350! Nice... Marble Arch, marvellous, not far now... check that out, a 4" skate board, £350... There's a pattern forming. Flat for rent only £350... That's cheap... a week... silly me!
Past the Cumberland, stayed there one night when I was younger, so much younger than today. The old man got a MBE and so we all went to the Palace to collect some bling! Before they started to let the hoi polloi in! And I've got to say I found all the red and gold of the Palace not quite to my taste, a little 70's I thought! (I was a punk at the time!) Made me think of the Sex Pistols. On the 10th March 1977 they signed to A&M Records outside Buckingham Palace and it was Prince Edward's birthday too!
Amazing what goes through your head on the way to a gig... well 2 minute presentation given by someone else while I hand out a few flyers, but it's all rock 'n' roll to me!
Enjoy today's news particularly the story we wrote for a Greek newspaper... amazing what happens when you're bouncing around the web strategically product levitating!!
Thank you for your continued support and next time you're thinking about the web, give us a call and let's see if we can't add a little of our magic to your world.
