| Welcome to
Business in Berkshire |
|
| Good Morning
|
|
The times they are a changing. First Great
Western could benefit from reading k&h's article on creating happy
customers. With the happiness comes recommendation and that leads to your
business having a value. Steve, tell us more.
Fiona will explain how to
look after your finances and has property reached it's peak or have we heard
that before... I guess the analyst need to take things up and down so someone
pays for their report! And I wonder if there is a link between paying for a
report and a businesses "catch phrases" being used in it... or is that me just
being tlaistic!
Have you seen what we did for Microsoft... and finally,
go give a little to the Sunflower Slimathon, Quinney has stepped up to the
plate, cheers mate, your stories will be getting a boosting this year!! We're
only looking for £20 off 50 people... who's gunna help us out?
Enjoy... |

 Creating and Keeping Happy
Customers Do you want to know what really makes customers
happy? The ranking of customer priorities based on a survey of 200,000
customers in the UK and Ireland calls into question many current customer
satisfaction processes and surveys which tend to cover issues of importance to
managers, rather than those that matter to customers. |

 How much are your services
worth? To charge, or not to charge, that is the question. And, if
you do charge, how do you do it without feeling guilty? It can be an internal
battle when you try to set your pricing. Part of you says, its wrong to
profit from your talents and gifts. Another part of you reasons that you must
make a living in order to keep doing what you love. Still another part of you
says that maybe if you charge a fee well under what seems greedy, it will all
work out. |

 Savings- Getting Started Part
1 Looking at your finances To get started ask yourself the
following: 1. What is the purpose of saving? 2. How can I save
money?
Is the money for a holiday or for your pension? Knowing exactly
what your money is needed for will determine how much you can save, and how
regularly. To put your finances in perspective, you have to examine your
current budget. Get out a bank statement and add up your monthly expenditure.
How does your income compare to your outgoings? Do you go overdrawn at all? You
might be surprised how the small things add up. |

 Commercial Property has Peaked,
Warn Analysts Commercial property has been one of the most
popular forms of investment over recent months, and the launch of real-estate
investment trusts (Reits) last week has added to the sector.
However,
analysts warn that it may be the wrong time to invest in commercial property as
returns are believed to have peaked. |

 The Networking
Wall Perhaps the most common misconception about networking is
that it is an opportunity to sell your product or service. Take a moment to put
yourself in the shoes of the person you are talking to at a networking event
and ask yourself whether they are actually in the market for what it is you
have to offer. |
