Latest video shoot productions for LiaiseOnline

Latest video shoot productions for LiaiseOnlineYesterday, 8th September 2008, Hanif came over to shoot our latest video and discuss how we can help drive more business his way. We started by revisiting what we do and I explained to Hanif the best way forward. How often do you find yourself covering the same ground to reinforce understanding? It takes time to get the message home, we all have so many things going on in our brains today. We have to pick the kids up at 3pm, sort this out for a client by 2pm, make an appointment with them by then and so on. So trying to understand and retain information to do with other subjects that are not our core business takes time. You need to give yourself the room to understand just a little bit, not the whole mechanics.

Mini Cooper: fun to be green

Mini Cooper: fun to be greenThe newest Mini Coopers represent the greenest fun you can have on the road. Retaining all the character and charm of the Italian Job original, the newest Minis combine power with green credentials.

The 1.6-litre four-cylinder BMW-engineered engine uses variable valve management (naturally aspirated in the standard model or with a twin-scroll turbocharger in the high-performance Mini Cooper S). Whilst the engine cracks out 118 horsepower and 114 lbs-ft of torque, it still offers a highly impressive fuel economy rate of 37 mpg.

Good morning <07 Name>

My daughter came home from school today with tales of the end of the world looming... Clearly this required further investigation!

First stop- the internet... It became very clear that this was not simply a rumour, but based on the imminent launch of an amazing experiment that has long been planned by scientists from across the world.

The big question which they are attempting to answer is:

'How did our universe come to be the way it is?'

We have all heard that The Universe started with a Big Bang - but even scientists don't fully understand how or why it developed the way it did. So they are trying to recreate conditions that happened immediately after the big bang, on a micro scale.

The Large Hadron Collider has taken thousands of scientists around the world over 10 years to build and cost almost £3 billion ! Basically it's a 27km circular tube that whizzes atomic particles around in opposite directions until they almost reach the speed of light. Then they will bang them together and take lots of pictures. Boffins from all around the world will then look at the pictures, scratch their heads and see if anything interesting happened.

The rumour about the end of the world seems to have come from the fact that it is an experiment and therefore it is not absolutely certain what the 'fallout ' will be from this recreation of the Big Bang.

I am reassured from the articles that I have read that the end of the world is almost certainly not imminent! It is simply that scientists cannot completely rule out the possibility of the creation of mini black holes ( even though it is miniscule and they would anyway immediately fizzle out!)

So- the big launch is scheduled for 8.30am CEST today, underground on the Franco-Swiss border. So I am assuming that if you are reading this - it has no doubt already happened, it's all gone to plan and we're all going to be just fine... unless there's a delayed reaction which the scientists also didn't think of...

The scariest thing for me is that I hadn't even heard about it until today, makes me think I should get out more. If you want to find out more and even watch live footage of the LHC in action, then check out www.lhc.ac.uk

Lorna Byrne Angels in my Hair

Lorna Byrne Angels in my HairDuring the summer 2008 we went to visit my sister in Leeds. Well, we went to stay with my mum & dad but you get the idea! The kids could play together and we could catch up on each other's worlds. She gave Ali a book to read, which she finished within a few days, as she can. I then picked it up and enjoyed it over the next 10 days, as I tend to read every word, then go back and read the one's I've missed!

Anyhow, Angels in my Hair by Lorna Byrne is an excellent read for those with a spiritual leaning. It's probably an interesting read for those without, it could even tune them in!

Passion in business with Kaizen is one small step to BIG success

Passion in business with Kaizen is one small step to BIG successWhat does Kaizen mean in psychology of a personal development?

2 definitions:
1. Small, trivial steps in order to accomplish a big goal.
2. Looking at a small moment in order to learn a big lesson.

How does Kaizen allow us to experience passion in our life? Allows us to focus on small moments during the day and enjoy each moment of accomplishment, a small moment of inspiration, small moments in which our lives are touched by other people.
