Good morning <07 Name>

Do you know what? I'm shattered!

I've been working my bits off for the last six months working out which direction to put my energy for the benefit of the business and my sanity. There is nothing more certain than the fact that things will change... and the wind saw us have our best month this year ... marvellous and long may it continue!

You can plan and have contingencies and all sorts of great strategies but if one little butterfly flutters its wings in a different way today then way hay, you'll be on your derriere looking at the sky wondering "How did I get here?"

The trick is to simply smile, tell Peter Pan that you do believe in fairies and ask for a little help and before you know it, you'll have landed in clover still wondering "How did I get here?" but probably feeling better as you have a smile on your face and a bundle of fivers in your mitt.

I was doing some analysis for a project last night and saw that YouTube has somewhere in the region of 352,000,000 pages indexed by Google. ( But then they are part of the same group)But even Yahoo can't ignore it with 120,569,378 pages indexed. Though LIVE is trying very hard with only 3.5m indexed ... It might seem that our six years of BinB and 10 - 15,000 pages indexed, pale into insignificance on that level BUT when compared to the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce with 2650, the IOD with a little over 3000 and the FSB with 6270 our presence becomes very meaningful.

When you add in how we have consistently delivered quality content, there is no wonder we get indexed so rapidly and are held up high for the world to see!

Since I changed course, with the emphasis on Promotional Micro Sites, the enquiries for BinB are streaming in... funny that!

Anyway, it's the summer and time to enjoy... so I'll be working a little less hard on our own content. I'll be expecting the new businesses to add a little more content to balance the books and those older businesses to allow themselves to get up to speed with these new fangled times. I may well choose to add some random fun stuff but that's the beauty of being the boss ...

If the sun is shining this afternoon we're going to feed the lions at Longleat ... if it's raining we may go do a sun dance at Stonehenge ! Or just go with it and paddle!!

Don't let the turkeys get you down, keep smiling and we'll be through this recession in a jiffy ... and don't forget, regarding all things Internet, give us a bell on 01753 852904... if we're not available our friends at Verbatim will answer the phone and ensure we get the message.

Things to do in Berkshire with kids

This weekend, between family activities, we've been searching around for content for our Kids in Berkshire website. It gets around 3000 visitors a month and we have been frustrated by the lack of content on the space. There has been no time to add content as other projects have taken priority!

With the summer upon us it made sense to spend some time adding stuff as the information will be useful for us this summer if nothing else. Go check out the site and you'll see we've added a ton of content. If you know of events that should be listed then tell us and we'll add them. Complete our Families days out form.

How to Deal with Psychometric Testing

As part of our Resourcing Programme, Pursuit NHA administers psychometric tests for its clients. In association with The Grocer magazine the following article has been reproduced from The Little Book of Job Hunting Top Tips.

Don't worry, you're not about to be wired up to a computer and covered in electrodes. Psychometric tests may be a little scary but they needn't be - and if you are the right person for the job they will just reinforce that fact. Broadly speaking they fall into four categories: ability tests, aptitude tests, personality tests and motivation questionnaires.

New mothers and pregnant women in the workplace

If you have new or expectant mothers on your payroll, the law states that you have certain very specific health and safety obligations towards them. Do you know what they are, and are you meeting them? Health and safety is always important but, arguably, never more so than for pregnant workers. A breach of health and safety in their case could have doubly tragic results. Breach of the health and safety statute resulting in injury or illness to mother or unborn child can also result in civil proceedings against the employer, as well as prosecution from the HSE.
