Director's News Business in Berkshire

Good morning <Demo - Name>

At the end of last week I heard that the company that ran B2B Thames Valley had run into difficulties. The organisation had ceased trading... the question really needs to be why were they still taking deposits off people in January? I hope one of the traditional local newspapers can afford to pay one of its journalists to look into this more deeply. If for no other reason that to illustrate how you can't grow fast in many directions without there being fallout.

On a more positive note, those of you who are running Corporate events in Berkshire that you'd like our readers to know about should get it touch. We've created a corporate event section that needs filling with lots of fun stuff for the spring and summer!

How will you be getting to those corporate events this year? How environmentally friendly is your car?

Enjoy these stories and a host of other news and events below.

B2B Portfolio has Ceased Trading
B2B Portfolio has Ceased Trading
B2B Portfolio, the organisers of the B2B Thames Valley event, have run into financial difficulties resulting in the organisation ceasing trading last week. It seems there has been no official notification or announcement by the company, leaving many customers unaware of this development.

B2B Portfolio comprised a series of seven business exhibitions and conferences across the UK, targeted at key decision makers, buyers, owners, managers and directors representing small to medium-sized companies. The Thames Valley event took place in September 2006 and attracted around 200 exhibitors.

Windsor Vehicle Leasing
How environmentally friendly is your car?

Windsor Vehicle Leasing offers advice on minimizing your car’s carbon footprint:

Environmental issues, carbon footprints, sustainability, being green, the planet’s future – we are constantly being warned about the problems our planet faces as a result of our carelessness. You really want to do ‘your bit’ so you review the biggest polluter you own: your car. But is it even possible to drive a ‘green’ car?

The number of ethical options is increasing, starting with basics such as a smaller car or a fuel-efficient diesel engine.

Applying for a Mortgage
Applying for a Mortgage
Applying for a mortgage
The fun part of house-hunting is now over, the offer’s been accepted and it’s time to apply for your mortgage!

Go it alone or use a broker?
There are endless forms and many options associated with mortgages. It’s well worth speaking to a financial adviser (sometimes known as a broker) first to get things clear in your head. Unless of course you’re very clued up on interest rates, or a broker yourself, it’s best to get advice.

The Offer
The “offer” is the amount of money that you’re prepared to pay for a property. A 10% deposit is usually required, so it’s a good idea to understand what you can afford first. When the offer’s been accepted, you then need to find out which lender will lend you the remainder. You do can this either online or through a broker.
