| Welcome to
Business in Berkshire |
|
| Good Morning
|
|
Thursday we plan to focus around finance.
Looking after those hard earned pennies! But don't worry, the yanks are on the
look out for European businesses, it says so below. What they don't say is that
one of the key drivers is the legal system we have here, makes it less likely
they'll get into too much trouble for cooking the books!
Listening to
the radio yesterday a chap was celebrating getting a new bank card, 18 months
after being made bankrupt. Not because he'd been forced to go that way due to
bad debtors... but because he'd racked up £60k on credit cards at
Harrods!!!! What sort of examples are these to set the future
generation?
At least we're looking after our old vets... enjoy today's
news... |

 Cash 'Still Central to SME
Operations' Despite the growing popularity of debit and credit
cards among consumers, many businesses claim that they still prefer to deal in
cash. The vast majority of businesses - 96 per cent - still accept cash
payments and 43 per cent claim that it is still their main payment method,
primarily because it is easier to manage than other methods. |

 Slough Landmark Set to
Disappear Sloughs Brunel Bus Station, a famous local
landmark, could soon be assigned to history according to an ambitious new
scheme to redevelop and regenerate the heart of the town. The iconic building,
which achieved recent fame thanks to an appearance in the introductory sequence
of The Office, is both loved and hated by locals for its quirky
1960s design. |
